April Ross
April Ross was one of just a handful of women beach volleyball stars who won medals at several Olympics. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian and will join the team in Tokyo. But more than that, Ross is aiming to capture the first Olympic gold. In fact, at 39, it could be her last chance to do so. She's certain that the top prizes can be achieved. Ross was reported on NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very highest, and even do well, we'll get the gold. In addition, I'll try the chance to have chances. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents and sister were residents there. In addition to participating in a variety of sports, Ross was also a student at Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. But she clearly was superior to the rest in the latter sport. When she played in her time at the high school level in her university biography she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. In recognition of her work she was awarded in 1999 as the Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. In addition, she was awarded the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross Klineman and Ross may be working on a project in the year 2017, however Ross had already been a seasoned player at the beach before they teamed up. In fact, she's had the chance to win numerous events, one of which was with a legendary volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to 2013. Together, Kessy Ross was an ace on the international circuit winning a world title in 2009. They won a Silver Medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings the legendary team who won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, edged their opponents to claim the gold medal. As fate would have it Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. Both went on to win the bronze beach volleyball medal at the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross was a college player with the Trojans of USC prior to the start of her professional career. She was a player in high school and in years prior to hitting the beaches as a professional. The time she spent at USC was quite impressive. In 2000, as a freshman she earned Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year accolades. She also earned an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to reach the Final Four with her help. Her heart was broken by a tragic incident in her sophomore year. However, she was able to make it an All-American once more. Through her two final seasons with the Trojans program, she coached the team to win a national championship every time. She was a great volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female college volleyball player. Ross took a course in international relations at USC. Margie Ross was not able to witness Ross reach beach volleyball's highest levels. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to remember her deceased parent close and dear. Margie is a source of inspiration in her life and on the beach.
