Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is the name of a Canadian actress. She was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, and was the 2nd youngest recipient of the award in Oscar history. As a result of an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish piano player. Flora McGrath is the daughter of the mute Scottish musician who came into New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. As a teenager, her family moved from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin made her debut when she was a kid, with the character in the Jane Eyre main character in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre followed by she played a significant role on the film Fly Away Home. Paquin played Frankie Addams from a television film adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding (1997). She played a minor role in The Queen of Spain Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997. The actress played teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
