Zoe Saldana, born June 19th, 1978 was the son of Asalia Nazario, and Aridio Saldana. Her father is Dominican as was her mother, while her father is Puerto Rican. Her mother is from Puerto Rico and her father was Dominican. When she was 10 years old, she and her parents relocated to the Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. Zoe developed a passion for dance performance while living in the Dominican Republic. Her first training was at ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy in which she was able to study ballet and other forms of dance. In addition to offering a way to express creatively young people who are enthusiastic and passionate, her dance training proved as a crucial factor to her first acting profession. When she was 17 years old, Zoe and her family moved back to America. United States where her love for dancing grew and her interest in theater performance became more intense. Zoe isn't just holding her own in big motion picture productions but gained recognition and admiration from industry professionals like Jerry Bruckheimer and Steven Spielberg and actors/actresses such as Tom Hanks, Bernie Mac, Keira Knightley, Ashton Kutcher, Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom. Co-stars have acknowledged her for her amazing ability, her sharp focus and determination and her capacity to take on difficult projects, using subjects and characters that vary in addition to her determination.
